IMPOSTOR BEHAVIORS

The Impostor Syndrome is expressed through five central behaviors:

  • Rejection sensitivity — Fear of failure, anxiety over being evaluated or judged, and approval seeking.

  • Depressed entitlement — Perceive to be of lower status than dominant, privileged group.

  • Lack of confidence — The lack of a belief in oneself, and one’s ability to meet challenges.

  • Perfectionism — Striving for flawlessness, over-preparation, unattainable ideals.

  • Feeling like a fraud — Doubt accomplishments, fear of being exposed as a “fraud.”
